Kids Against Hunger – Cedar Rapids
Kids Against Hunger - Cedar Rapids is a local nonprofit that helps schools, churches, and organizations feed starving children in the USA and in third world countries. Some of their food goes to local food pantries right here in the Cedar Rapids area.
40,000 children starve to death every day around the world.
KAH gets students right here involved in a deeply important life changing effort. Many students have told them what a profound effect KAH has had on them.
They are an all volunteer organization so every penny groups donate to them go into the food.
They are always looking for volunteers to help load their trailers and help run packaging events at schools and churches all over the area.
Since 2008 the CR area has packaged and shipped over 1.5 million meals worldwide!
They need volunteers that are comfortable carrying 50 pound bags of rice. Students under 18 should have parents permission.
25 cents feeds a starving child a hot and nutritious meal.
If you are looking for a way to make the world a better place for children and want to have fun while you do it, please contact them. It’s a great way for students and their parents to work together as a family project!
